Katie Fisher

Katherine received her B.A. from UNC at Chapel Hill in 1992, and her J.D. from UNC at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2003, making Dean’s List in the spring of that year. She began her career in 2004 as a staff attorney at Pisgah Legal Services, an award-winning non-profit legal aid firm in Asheville. Within two years, she was managing attorney of the Mountain Violence Prevention Project. Under her management, the program significantly expanded its reach and improved its efficacy in helping families secure safety from domestic violence with various remedies in both state courts and through federal immigration laws. Katherine joined Siemens Law Offices in January 2009, where she will continue to expand her work with families in the areas of family law and estate planning. She expects to be certified as a Family Law Specialist in 2010. Katherine has developed a sharp skill set as a litigator and carefully prepares each case according to the unique facts and desires of the client. However, she sees trial as a last resort and will guide the client through all available methods of dispute resolution where the result will be of greater benefit to her clients. She is dedicated to harnessing the body of both family law and estate planning to help impose order and dignity in otherwise chaotic, emotionally charged areas of her clients’ lives. Katherine has traveled extensively in Mexico and is proficient in Spanish. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, including both the Family Law and Estate and Fiduciary sections, and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys. She was nominated for a YWCA TWIN (Tribute to Women of Influence) Award in 2009, has served on the Junior League’s Community Advisory Board for 2008-09, and is active at the Asheville Jewish Community Center. She lives in Asheville with her husband and their two boys.
