Extraterrestrial Divorce Disputes
Divorce and custody disputes may be inescapable even from outer space! NASA astronaut Anne McClain was accused by her spouse of a crime in space related to her domestic dispute on Earth, which brings to light new questions about legal disputes involving space travel.
A recent article from The New York Times notes that sorting out legal questions, such as how to handle discovery requests involving NASA and extraterrestrial communications, will become inevitable as people spend more time in outer space.
While this may be the first domestic dispute related investigation in space, it is unlikely to be the last.
